Charlie
9-year-old FS Mixed-Breed Dog
Veterinarian: Dr. John Wheeler, DVM
HISTORY –
Charlie, a 9-year-old dog, first showed signs of discomfort about a year ago, occasionally limping and favoring her back legs. Her veterinarian at North Kenilworth suspected arthritis and recommended Dasuquin as a supplement.
On New Year’s Day, Charlie’s condition worsened after rough play with her Great Dane sibling. She began limping continuously and struggled with basic movements, including jumping onto the couch—a task that had always been easy. Concerned about her declining mobility, her owners sought further evaluation.
A veterinary consultation at DC Ranch Animal Hospital included X-rays, which revealed acute bilateral ACL tears, one mild and the other moderate. Charlie was started on Gabapentin and Rimadyl for pain management. After discussing treatment options, her owners decided to try Spryng® as a non-surgical approach to improve her mobility and comfort.
DIAGNOSIS –
Bilateral ACL Tears & Osteoarthritis.
TREATMENTS -
Charlie received injections of Spryng® with OsteoCushion® Technology in each knee at DC Ranch Animal Hospital.
OUTCOME -
Following treatment with Spryng, Charlie began showing signs of improved mobility and comfort.
She is now able to move more easily and is gradually returning to her favorite activities.
Her owners report she's happier, more active, and enjoying playtime again without the discomfort.
